- Refund an Order
You refund a Monetico order from WooCommerce. The plugin asks the bank to credit the customer’s card back (a recrédit), then records the refund on the order.
Before your first refund
- Keep Permettre les remboursements (label Recrédit client) ticked in the method’s settings. It is on by default.
- In production, send the Monetico technical support, by email, the list of server IP addresses to allow, and the maximum number of refunds per day for each. The setting shows the addresses the plugin detects from your server’s host name.
- In test mode, refunds go to the test service of Monetico.

Orders
Use the refund button of the WooCommerce order screen as usual, enter the amount and confirm. The plugin sends the request to the bank.
- On success, the plugin adds an order note: the refunded amount, then remboursés sur une commande de the order total, followed by your refund reason if you wrote one.
- If the refunds add up to the order total, the order becomes Refunded.
When a refund fails
The plugin refuses a refund in these cases, with these messages:
- Cette commande n’a pas de reference de transaction. The order has no transaction ID.
- Aucun numéro d’autorisation n’a été enregistré pour cette transaction. The bank never sent the authorization number of the payment. It is recorded when the bank confirms the payment on your return URL.
- La commande ne peut pas être remboursée. WooCommerce says the order cannot be refunded.
- Échec du recrédit : followed by the code and the reason the bank gave.
- Une erreur est survenu lors de la tentative d’appel de la banque. The call to the bank failed or its answer was unreadable.
Failed refund attempts are always written to the WooCommerce status log, even when the debug setting is off. See the article about order notes and logs.
