Registration Form

The page has one group, Registration Form. You can use this custom form anywhere on your website to let new users register. Mandatory fields like the email are added automatically if they are not set.

Form fields

In Form Fields, select the fields you want to display. The selection order matters: the form shows the fields in this order. You can choose among:

  • Username
  • Email
  • Password
  • First Name
  • Last Name
  • Display Name
  • Code

By default, the form has the Email and Code fields. The plugin adds the missing fields it needs:

  • Email is always added.
  • Username is added when WooCommerce is not active. With WooCommerce, a username is created from the email.
  • Code is added when you made the registration code mandatory.

If the form has no password field, the plugin generates a password and sends the new user an email about the account.

After the registration

  • Select the page destination after registration: leave empty to stay on the same page. The registration doesn’t lead to an automatic login.
  • After registration, automatically log the user in: check it to log the new user in. If no destination page is set, the user stays on the page.
  • Send an email to newly created users about their account: check it to send the standard WordPress new account email.

The new user gets the role of the code. Without a code, the new user is a customer when WooCommerce is active and a subscriber if not.

Display the form

Place this shortcode where you want the form:

[[rc_registration]]

It displays a user registration form including the registration code field. It is displayed to visitors only. A logged-in user sees nothing, or the content you put between the opening and closing tags of the shortcode: [[rc_registration]]You are already registered.[[/rc_registration]].

Appearance

Under the shortcode, the page shows the form with an appearance editor. The title of the form and the text of its button are both Register by default: change them there. Your changes apply to every form displayed with the shortcode.

Messages your users can see

  • Registration requires a valid email address
  • The username is invalid
  • This username already exists, please choose another one
  • Invalid Registration Code
  • This code isn’t valid anymore
  • The registration code is mandatory to create an account on this website
  • Action control failed. Try to refresh the page.
