Create and Manage My Account Tabs

Knowledge Base

All the plugin’s settings are in one list of tabs. Open

WordPress Admin
My Account Page
Customer's My-Account tabs

The page explains that you can create as many My Account tabs as you want. Each tab is a row of the list, with these columns:

  • URL Slug
  • Page: the title of the page displayed in the tab, as a link that opens this page in the editor in a new browser tab.
  • Tab Label
  • Roles: the roles allowed to see the tab, or All.
  • Index: the position of the tab.

Add a tab

  1. Click the add button above the list.
  2. Fill the form described below.
  3. Validate the form.

A tab needs a page. If you validate the form without one, the plugin answers Please, select a Page as tab content.

The Displayed Page group

  • Page: select the page whose content is displayed in the tab. The field lists your site’s pages.
  • URL Slug: the last part of the tab’s URL. Your customers will see an address like https://yourwebsite.com/my-account/the_url_slug_you_chose.
  • Label: the name of the tab in the My Account menu. Leave it empty to use the page title.

When you select a page, the form helps you: the page title is shown as the placeholder of Label, and the URL Slug is filled with the page title turned into a slug. If you type your own slug, the form stops overwriting it.

The Options group

  • Insertion Position: where the tab appears in the list of My Account tabs. See below.
  • Roles restrictions: tick the roles that can access the tab. If you tick no role, all registered users have access to it.

Insertion Position

The position is a whole number:

  • 1 is the first position of the menu, 2 the second one, and so on.
  • 0 puts the tab at the end of the menu.
  • A negative number counts from the end. The default, -1, puts the tab just before the last one, which is usually the logout tab.

Edit, duplicate and delete a tab

Use the actions of each row to edit it, to duplicate it, or to delete it. Duplicating creates a new tab from the values of the row, that you can change before saving.

Deleting a tab removes the tab from the list only. The page it displayed is not deleted.

Translate the tab labels with WPML

When a tab is saved, its label is registered in WPML as a string of the package WooCustomAccount Tabs, titled My Account tab labels. Translate it with WPML String Translation: the translated label is used in the menu. A tab with an empty label uses the page title and does not register a string.

When you uninstall the plugin

Deleting the plugin from the plugins list also deletes its saved data, which includes your list of tabs. Your pages are not deleted.
