- Let Members Offer a Membership
When WooVIP is active, your members can generate registration codes and share them with their friends. A friend who registers with such a code receives a membership, for the duration you set.
Requirements
- WooVIP, active
- A Registration Codes license, active
Set it up on a membership
Open the membership whose members can generate codes.
In the membership edit screen, find the group Registration Codes. It explains that your members can generate registration codes they share with their friends, and that new users who use one are granted a temporary membership. Its fields:
- Count: how many registration codes can be generated by members during each period.
- Periodicity: how often registration codes can be generated by members.
- Membership to give: the membership given to users who register using a code. It can be another membership than the one the member holds.
- Membership duration: how long the membership given by the code lasts. Leave it empty for an infinite membership.
A membership with no Count does not allow codes generation. The settings belong to the membership of the member who generates the code.
What the codes are
- Each generated code can be used once.
- The code is created in your list of registration codes, with the member as its origin user. You can see it, deactivate it or delete it there. See Create and Manage Registration Codes.
- When a user registers with the code, the plugin grants the membership to this user. The code does not change the user’s role.
- The length and the pattern of the code come from the Code Settings page.

Members generate their codes with the shortcode [[rc_vip_code_generation]] and follow them with [[rc_vip_codes_history]]. See Shortcodes for Members’ Codes.
