What to Set Up with Your Bank
What to Set Up with Your Bank

Knowledge Base

The plugin needs three values from your bank, and the bank needs one address from your site. This article lists what goes each way, and the options your Monetico contract must include for each feature.

What the bank gives you

Your bank generates these three values when your contract is created. Enter them in the settings of each Monetico payment method you enable (see the article about the gateway settings).

  • Numéro de votre TPE virtuel: your virtual payment terminal number.
  • Code Société: your company code.
  • Clé de sécurité (MAC): your security key. The plugin uses it to sign what it sends to the bank and to check what the bank sends back. Keep it private.

If you do not know these values, contact the Monetico assistance. The settings page links to it.

If you enable a payment method while one of the three is empty, the administration shows this error: the bank will answer that it received no data when a customer tries to pay.

What the bank needs from you: the return URL

The bank confirms each payment by calling your site. For that, you must give your bank an address, which the bank calls the URL retour. Without it, your site never learns that an order was paid.

The settings page of each Monetico payment method prints this address, in the Votre compte Monetico group. It has this form:

https://your-site.example/?wc-api=lws_monetico

Copy the address from your settings page rather than typing it. All the Monetico payment methods use this one address.

The bank calls this address with a POST request. The plugin only accepts the call if its seal is valid for your security key, and if it carries your terminal number.

Under the address, the settings page tells you when the bank last called it, or says L’URL retour n’a encore jamais été appelé par la banque. if it never did. Check this line after your first test payment.

You do not need to give the bank the customer’s return pages. The plugin sends them with each payment: the order received page after a successful payment, and the payment page of the order after a failure.

Options of your Monetico contract

Some features need an option on your Monetico contract. Ask your bank before you enable them.

  • Intégré payment form (card form inside your site): the iframe option.
  • Paiement Express Multi-CB: the option of the same name on the Monetico service.
  • Payment in 2, 3 or 4 times: your contract must allow it and your virtual terminal must be set to accept payments in several installments.
  • PayPal and Cofidis 3xCB / 4xCB: a particular option on your Monetico contract for each.
  • Refunds in production: send the Monetico technical support, by email, the list of IP addresses to allow and the maximum number of refunds per day for each one. The Permettre les remboursements setting shows the IP addresses it detects.
  • Automatic 3D Secure bypass by amount: if your terminal bypasses 3D Secure under a set amount, every smaller transaction is bypassed, whatever the 3D Secure preference you choose in the plugin.

What only the bank can change

The look of the card form (colors, fonts, and so on) is set on the Monetico service, not in the plugin. Contact the Monetico assistance for it.

Monetico requires secure HTTPS exchanges using the TLS 1.2 protocol.
