Virtual Wallet adds several new options to WooCommerce products. In this part of the documentation, we’ll detail these new options and how to use them on your store.

First, either edit or create a new product on your WooCommerce’s Products section.

Purchase and Cashback Rules

Inside the production edition page, you’ll notice a Virtual Wallet tab. Click on the tab to see several options that you can set up :

  • Allowed Virtual Wallet Usage on that product : You can override the general rule regarding wallet credit usage on this product
  • Purchase that product adds $ in customer’s Virtual Wallet : Set how much credit will be added to the customer’s standard wallet when purchasing the product
  • Purchase that product adds gems in customer’s Virtual Wallet : Set how much gems customers will receive when purchasing the product

If you want to sell gems or wallet credit, use these fields to do it

Gems Products

In addition to the above rules, you can create gems products. Customers can only buy gems products with their gems. You can have both regular and gems products on your website. It is a great way to create a gift shop next to your regular shop.

Inside the Product data group in the product’s edition, change the product type to either Simple Gems Product or Variable Gems Product.

The only difference between standard products and gems products is that you’ll have to set prices in gems instead of your standard currency.

Gift Cards

You can also set up your product as a gift cards that customers can buy for their friends or family. Gift cards are available for the following product types :

  • Simple Products
  • Variable Products
  • Simple Gems Products
  • Variable Gems Products

In order to see gift cards settings, check the Gift Card box in the product data group inside the product’s edition. Then, go to the Gift Card Tab. As a result, you’ll see the following options to set up :

  • Gift card type : Select if the gift card will give standard or gems credit to the recipient
  • Gift Card Images : Set the available gift card images that recipients will receive in the email. Virtual Wallet provides default images but you can add your own images.
  • Validity Period : If you check the box, you can set a validity period for gift cards. Recipient can only use gift cards during their validity period.
  • Refund on expiration : If you check this box, Virtual Wallet will refund the gift card to the customer if the recipient didn’t use the gift card before expiration.
  • Optional refund fee : If set, the buyer will have to pay a small fee to get a re-credit on expiration.
