You can set product rules at different levels in VIP Memberships. You can set general rules in your membership setings. In addition, you can override these settings directly by editing a WooCommerce product.

We’ll detail both possibilities in this part of the documentation

Rules in Memberships

To set product rules inside your membership, go to the following page :

In this page, you’ll see all your existing memberships. Click on the name of the membership for which you want to set product rules to open it.

Once in the membership settings, look at the Product Rules group. You’ll see a list of all the rules you’ve already set in this membership. To add a new rule, click the Add button.

There are a lot of options there. Therefore, we’ll look at them one by one :

General

• Name : The name of your rule. For your use only.

Rules

• Visible by members only : Set if the products are visible for not members.
• Hide price for others : If you check the box, the product price won’t be visible for not members
• Purchasable by members only : If you check the box, only members of this membership will get the possibility to purchase the products
• Discount (%) : Set a percentage discount for members

Categories

• Categories : Select the products categories for which this rule will apply

Page Specific Content

• Location : There are 5 locations in the WooCommerce product page where you can display specific content. Select the appropriate one
• Specific Content : Set the content you want to display for members. You can use html and css.

When you’re done with the rule, click the Save button. You can add as many rules as you want and edit/delete them at will.

Rules in Products

You can set specific rules or override general rules directly by editing a product in WooCommerce. Settings are slightly different between regular and variable products. Therefore, we’ll detail them separately.

First, edit your product by going to the following page :

Then, find and edit for which you want to set specific rules.

Regular Products

In the product edition, you’ll see 2 new tabs in the Product data group.

WooVIP Membership

Use this section to grant a membership to your customers when they buy this product. Select which membership customers will get when purchasing the product. In addition, you can set a duration for the membership. Save your settings and that’s it, customers will get the membership when purchasing the product.

WooVIP Rules

In that tab, you’ll see a group for each of your memberships. And, for each membership, you can set different membership rules.

• Show for XXXX members only : Set if the products are hidden for not members.
• Hide price for others : If checked, the product price will be hidden for not members
• Purchasable by XXXX members only : If checked, only members of this membership will get the possibility to purchase the products
• XXXXX members sale price : Set a discounted price for members
• Location : There are 5 locations in the WooCommerce product page where you can display specific content. Select the appropriate one
• Specific Content : Set the content you want to display for members. You can use HTML and CSS.

Variable products

For variable products, it’s a bit different. You have the choice to set rules that will apply to all the variations or to set different rules for each variation.

Rules for all product variations

In the product edition, go to the WooVIP Rules tab.

There, you can set different options :

• Show for XXXX members only : Set if the products are hidden for not members.
• Location : There are 5 locations in the WooCommerce product page where you can display specific content. Select the appropriate one
• Specific Content : Set the content you want to display for members. You can use HTML and CSS.

Rules for specific product variations

In the product edition, go to the Variations tab.

For each variation of your product, you’ll be able to set membership rules :

• Show for XXXX members only : Set if the products are hidden for not members.
• Hide price for others : If checked, the product price will be hidden for not members
• Purchasable by XXXX members only : If checked, only members of this membership will get the possibility to purchase the products
• XXXXX members sale price : Set a discounted price for members
