Partial Refund Reward

This documentation is for the WooRewards plugin

This add-on adds a new reward type to WooRewards, the Partial Order Refund.

Installation and activation

First, you have to purchase the add-on. Since it’s a premium add-on, you can’t install it directly. Therefore, go to Woorewards Add-ons and purchase the add-on. Then, download the zip file (link in the order confirmation) and install it like a new plugin.

After the installation, go to MyRewards → System → License management and enter your license key (also received in the order confirmation). That’s it, you’re good to go.

How the reward works

It’s important to understand how the reward works before using it. When customers unlock this reward, it will automatically process a partial refund on their last order.

This reward is particularly useful if you want to reward customers after they placed an order. In addition, you can use it if you don’t expect them to place new orders but still want to reward them if they bring new customers for example.

WooCommerce Subscriptions Use

This reward lets you be very creative if you combine it to WooCommerce Subscriptions. For example, it lets you give “discounts” on subscription renewals by issuing a partial refund immediately after the renewal happens.

Examples

Here are some examples of how you can use this add-on with WooCommerce Subscriptions :

  • Discount every X renewals : Set a partial refund that only happens every 6 renewals → Pay 5 months, the 6th month is free !
  • Permanent discounts on renewals after X subscriptions : Buy 3 subscriptions and get 20% on all renewals !
  • Higher discounts over time : After 1 year, get 5% on subscription renewals, after 2 years, get 10% !

Setup the reward

In the rewards list (or inside a level), click the Add button and select Fixed/Percentage discount from the Miscellaneous category.

Click the Next button.
